Meet Karl!

Since November 2025, when we rescued him from a pound where he had been forgotten and neglected for six long years, Karl has fought harder than any dog ever should.

After enduring three major surgeries to remove tumours across his chest, abdomen, and groin—as well as having 10 teeth extracted—this poor boy has been through so much. His tumours, known as trichoepitheliomas, are benign, but the vet in Italy warned us that they were likely to return. Very sadly, just four months after his last operation, new tumours have reappeared across his chest, abdomen, and groin.

We have, of course, consulted a British vet, who has advised against further surgery. Instead, Karl is now receiving palliative care to manage inflammation and prevent any infections. He is currently on antibiotics and a range of supportive supplements. Karl is now living comfortably and receiving loving care at Sully's Sanctuary in Lincolnshire.
