Charlie was surrendered to us by a hunter whose neglect had left him in a rapidly deteriorating state. He had been kept in a shack in appalling conditions alongside two other Setters and three puppies — living in filth, surrounded by rats that had even chewed on the puppies' tails. Food was a luxury Charlie and his companions rarely saw.

Despite everything he endured, Charlie is an absolute star. Currently fighting Leishmaniasis and undergoing a course of injections, he faces every treatment with quiet bravery — not a single peep, not a moment of fuss. We are doing everything we can to show him that his painful past is behind him, and that a bright, safe future is well on its way.
